]]>Bad News Bears will take on FURIA in a BO1 match in ESEA MDL Season 31 North America on Friday evening.
FURIA are currently ranked third on the league leaderboard. They lost to TeamOne and MASSIVEimpact but managed to defeat Chris and the boys, ATK, Variance and Ascent. FURIA’s last 10 matches have resulted in nine wins, so it is safe to say they are in quite a good form.

Bad News Bears, on the other hand, are only placed eighth in the ESEA MDL Season 31 NA standings, as they have only managed to win two matches out of four played. They won against MASSIVEimpact and Singularity and lost to TeamOne and Ascent.

The upcoming match will be played on Mirage, which only slightly favours FURIA. They have played a total of 17 matches on this map in the past three months, winning 71 per cent of them. Bad News Bears are also quite proficient on this map, winning seven matches out of their last 10 played. The last time these two teams played on Mirage, Bad News Bears came out victorious, winning 16-14 in quite a close match.
FURIA and Bad News Bears have played a total of six maps in three matches between them. FURIA won all of three matches, taking five maps in total. The last time these two teams met was at the ESL One Cologne 2019 North America Closed Qualifier, where FURIA won the match 2-1. Bad News Bears took the first map, 16-14 on Mirage, but FURIA managed to come back 16-10 on Inferno and 19-16 on Overpass to win the match. They then won all the upcoming matches in the tournament, thus qualifying for ESL One Cologne 2019.
FURIA are considered favourites at around $1.35, which is about fair. They are still the better team; however, the match could be quite close as both teams have Mirage in their map pool.
Bad News Bears came quite close to beating FURIA at the ESL One Cologne qualifiers, but they were ultimately defeated in a close match on Overpass that went to overtime and could have gone either way. The outsiders are priced around $3.20, which is far too high for a BO1 match on a map that both teams perform well on.
We recommend a value bet on Bad News Bears, as they have a legitimate chance to stage an upset.

]]>ESEA MDL Season 31 Australia continues on Thursday night with a BO1 clash between two old foes in Grayhound Gaming and Chiefs Esports Club.
These teams have met eight times before, most recently at ESL Pro League Season 9 Asia. Grayhound managed to win both maps in a convincing fashion on that occasion, going 16-11 up on Mirage and 16-8 on Overpass.

As for the team news, Grayhound have had two roster changes in 2019 so far. In early March, they decided to bench Euan “sterling” Moore, who was replaced by Simon “sico” Williams from ICON Esports. A month later, more specifically at the end of April, Grayhound made yet another change when they added Neil “NeiL_M” Murphy from x-kom Team as their main coach.
While these two changes have proved significant, they are small fries compared to those made by their next opponents.

Chiefs Esports Club decided on a complete makeover of their roster this year. They started by signing Peter “BL1TZ” Athanasatos and adding Tyler “tucks” Reilly to their starting lineup. In late February, Mohammed “MoeycQ” Tizani left for Ground Zero Gaming, followed by the departure of Jesse “InfrequeNt” Barker in May. That was when Chris “ofnu” Hanley and Ryan “zewsy” Palmer joined on loan from ICON Esports. Additionally, they made a change in coaching staff only weeks later, when they signed the former Tainted Minds coach Fergus “ferg” Stephenson.
Both Grayhound and Chiefs were at the recent IEM Sydney 2019 tournament. Grayhound managed to win two matches against Heroic and FaZe Clan, and even took a map off Fnatic, the eventual finalists. Chiefs finished with only a single win, against ViCi Gaming, but also managed to take a map off Fnatic.
Much of Grayhound’s success in the recent ESL Pro League clash with Chiefs was due to the impressive performance of their star player Christopher “dexter” Nong, who ended the match with a 92.1 ADR and a 1.47 HLTV rating. We also cannot forget about Ollie “DickStacy” Tierney, who was not far behind with 80.3 ADR a 1.35 HLTV rating.
Despite that whitewash, there does not seem to be much separating these two teams. That makes the odds of $2.75 on Chiefs quite attractive. The match will be played on Nuke, where Chiefs tend to perform well, so the value is definitely there.
However, there is no point tempting fate hen we have safer options. Instead of backing the win, take Chiefs to cover the +4.50 rounds handicap.
Prediction: Chiefs +4.50 rounds – Best odds at GG Bet

]]>FURIA are coming into the match in an amazing form, winning all of the last five matches they played. The Brazilians managed to win against INTZ, Luminosity (twice, both time 2-1 in a BO3 match), Spacestation and Variance.
Their most recent achievement was the first place at the ECS Season 7 North America Week 3, which saw them progress to the ECS Season 7 Finals, where they will battle it out with the best EU and NA teams for the lion’s share of the huge $500,000 Prize pool.
FURIA were also successful at the ESL One Cologne 2019 North America Open Qualifier 2, where they managed to beat Variance 16-9 and Luminosity 2-1 to qualify for the ESL One Cologne 2019 North America Closed Qualifier.

Looking at their results from the previous season of the ESEA MDL North America, FURIA managed to win all of their 17 matches in the group stage and successfully qualified for the playoffs. In the playoffs, they won against Team One, Singularity and Bad News Bears to lift the trophy.
They were also present at the DreamHack Open Rio 2019, where they managed to get their way into the finals, but they failed short against the European team AVANGAR.
Spacestation unlike FURIA come into this match in a terrible form, failing to win any of their last five matches. They lost to the likes of MASSIVEimpact, ex-Zone, Luminosity and also some bigger names like NRG and their next opponents, FURIA. The last match this team managed to win was on 6.3.2019 at the ESEA MDL Season 30 North America against Luminosity. I don’t believe there is a need to make it any clearer, this team is in a terrible form, which also more times than not, means their morale is extremely low.

Spacestation finished third at the previous season of ESEA MDL North America, which qualified them for the playoffs, where they went out in the first round, as they lost 2-0 to the Brazilian team Luminosity in a BO3 match.
These two teams played a total of three games between them, with FURIA winning all of them. FURIA did not only win the last 3 h2h matches, but was also dominant in all the matches. They defeated Spacestation 16-3 on Nuke, 16-6 on Cache and 16-2 on Inferno. All things considered I do not expect the upcoming match to end any differently to the previous 3.
As for our prediction, we have to go with FURIA. They are in an amazing form, while Spacestation are in an absolute downfall. Expect FURIA to win with at least a couple of rounds to spare.
Prediction: FURIA -5.50 rounds @ GG Bet
