The post G2 Esports claim LEC Season Finals 2024 title appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>This unprecedented achievement saw them win the Winter, Spring, Summer Splits, and the Season Finals in a single year, a feat never before accomplished in the region.
G2’s latest victory came in the LEC Season Finals, where they defeated their historic rivals, Fnatic, 3-1 in the grand final held at Munichs Olympic Hall.

— LEC (@LEC) September 1, 2024
The road to the grand final wasn’t smooth for G2, as they were sent to the lower bracket after a surprising loss to MAD Lions KOI in the first round of playoffs.
However, G2 showcased their resilience, battling their way back by defeating GiantX, narrowly avoiding elimination against Team BDS, and avenging their earlier defeat by beating MAD KOI to secure a spot in the final.
In the grand final, Fnatic, the winners of the upper bracket, put up a strong fight.
The first game of the series was the longest match of the split and the longest ever between the two rivals, with G2 narrowly securing the win.
Although Fnatic bounced back in game two with a convincing victory, G2 quickly dashed any hopes of a five-game series by winning the next two games, sealing the series and their 17th regional title.
This victory marks G2’s fourth European League of Legends trophy of 2024, and the rivalry between G2 and Fnatic, nearly a decade old, once again delivered an intense and entertaining series for fans.
However, Fnatic, once the dominant force in the European League, remains far from reclaiming its former glory, with their last title dating back to 2018 before the LEC rebranding.
G2s dominance this year also serves as a preview of what they might bring to the 2024 World Championship, set to begin in less than a month in Berlin.
Both G2 and Fnatic have qualified for the World Championship, with MAD Lions KOI also progressing to the play-ins.
Worlds will take place across Europe, with the grand final set for the O2 Arena in London.
G2s players and staff expressed their pride and relief after the win.

— LEC (@LEC) September 1, 2024
Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther, G2’s mid-laner, thanked the fans for their support, while Steve “Hans Sama” Liv, who earned the finals MVP, expressed his determination to continue improving.
Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle, G2s support, acknowledged the pressure but emphasised the teams confidence going into the international stage.
Assistant coach Christopher “Duffman” Duff highlighted the team’s focus on raising their floor rather than reaching a ceiling, a strategy that paid off throughout the year.
Fnatic, on the other hand, continues to grapple with their shortcomings.
Fnatic founder and CEO Sam Mathews acknowledged the disappointment of finishing second to G2 once again but emphasised the importance of preparing for Worlds.
The grand final between G2 and Fnatic was a riveting back-and-forth series, with the first game lasting 51 minutes and 20 seconds, setting a record for the longest game of the year in the LEC.
With the conclusion of the LEC Season Finals, the 2024 LEC season comes to an end, and all eyes now turn to Berlin as the worlds best teams prepare for the biggest event of the yearWorlds 2024.

]]>League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Season Finals lower bracket final, on Saturday, August 31, will see a rematch between G2 Esports and MAD Lions KOI, who will clash for a spot on the big stage. The Spanish squad upset G2 Esports in the first round, yet despite that success, they are not expected to do as well this weekend.
G2 Esports looked unconvincing throughout the regular season, but that was hardly a reason for concern, knowing G2 like to play around until things actually matter. Yet, even their run through LEC 2024 Season Finals has been anything but great.
They lost to MAD Lions KOI in the first round, stomped the shaky GIANTX 3-0, but needed to reverse-sweep Team BDS to secure a spot in the lower bracket finals. Winning after being 0-2 down is impressive; overall, G2 Esports seem to not be in the best shape.
MAD Lions KOI have recently lost a barnburner of a series against Fnatic. Thanks to their explosive early game and solid teamfighting, MAD Lions KOI looked more than competitive and had they not thrown two big leads, things couldve won the series 3-1.
G2 Esports are still getting a lot of respect, which makes sense, as this is the best Western LoL esports team when they are performing to the best of their ability. Yet we have not seen this side of G2 Esports in a long time, which begs the question of why they are $1.24 favourites here.
MAD Lions KOIs summer split record is terrible, yet they have started peaking at the right time, and if they can perform as well as they did against Fnatic, G2 Esports can find themselves in a tricky spot.
There is a world where G2 Esports turn on the jets and hoist the LEC trophy on September 1. But the way they are playing now, siding with MAD Lions KOI at these LoL betting odds to keep this fixture close makes more sense.

]]>The post Team BDS v SK Gaming betting picks – LEC 2024 Season Finals appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>After losing their first fixture of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Season Finals against Fnatic, Team BDS will have a chance to make amends against SK Gaming on Saturday, August 17. But according to the esports odds from the top LoL betting sites, this is SK’s game to lose.
Team BDS were expected to do well in the opening LEC 2024 Season Finals series against Fnatic, yet they were a complete no-show on the day. BDS were out-drafted on map one, outplayed on the second, and crushed on the third. It was one of the worst showings from BDS this split, so things can only go up from here.
SK Gaming looked competitive during the regular season but collapsed in the LEC 2024 Summer Playoffs with losses against Fnatic and Karmine Corp. Unlike BDS, however, Yasin “Nisqy” Din?er and his crew have had a lot more time to fix their mistakes.
The two sides last met in LEC 2024 Summer Week 2, when SK Gaming won. That doesn’t mean much, though, as the teams are similar in style — both are slow and methodical, with solid decision-making — and there is not much to separate them quality-wise.
However, BDS have shown higher highs this season and should not be priced as underdogs for this series. The market has overreacted to their crushing loss to a high-flying Fnatic outfit, so take the solid price for the outsiders.

]]>The Esports World Cup, which has rebranded from the Gamers8 festival, is the richest esports and gaming events the world has ever seen, and the two-month-long event kicked off on June 28 and will run through August 25, with 22 different titles featured throughout.
The first of the top line titles to go ahead will be the League of Legends Esports World Cup tournament, which will feature eight of the best LoL teams from the top four leagues around the world.
League of Legends will make its debut in Saudi Arabia after one of the world’s biggest and most played titles wasn’t invited to the Gamers8 festival in 2022 and 2023.
However, once the Esports World Cup was announced, League of Legends was quickly added to the list of tournaments and a prize pool of US$1 million was attached to the four-day-long competition.
Eight teams received direct invites, with two teams from each of the LPL, LCK, LEC and LCS taking their place in Riyadh.
Top esports betting sites have the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational champions, Gen.G, marked as their clear favourite at $1.80 in the “To Win Ouright” market, followed by Bilibili Gaming ($3.50) and T1 ($6.50) to claim the LoL Esports World Cup title.

TEAM BDS vs ROGUE LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | BDS $2.05 at GG Bet | Rogue $1.69 at GG Bet |
When: | June 22, 2024 | 17:00 CEST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
Rogue are 1-4 after two weeks of action. They have not produced a single good game and their only victory came against MAD Lions KOI, who seem to be in an even worse spot than them.
Team BDS kicked off the split with three victories against Team Vitality, Team Heretics, and G2 Esports, then fell against the surging SK Gaming and beat Karmine Corp. The loss against SK pushed BDS down the power rankings but hasn’t eliminated them from contention for a top-four finish.
Team BDS should crush Rogue, but the kill line is set a bit too high — not necessarily because BDS can’t cover 10 kills, but because this will likely be a very quick match.
TEAM HERETICS vs SK GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | Heretics $2.64 at GG Bet | SK $1.46 at GG Bet |
When: | June 22, 2024 | 17:45 CEST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
Team Heretics have done relatively well in this LoL EMEA Championship split, beating GIANTX in the first week and taking down Karmine Corp last Sunday. This doesn’t prove much, however, as neither of those opponents are much good.
SK Gaming, meanwhile, have looked incredible so far. They’ve picked up four wins and lost just once — against Fnatic on Sunday. Yet even that game was much closer than what the final score would suggest.
SK Gaming are arguably the second-best-performing team in the LEC. While their ceiling is somewhat limited, their fast-paced style should counter everything Heretics want to accomplish in their games.
TEAM VITALITY vs GIANTX LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | Vitality $1.43 at GG Bet | GIANTX $2.76 at GG Bet |
When: | June 22, 2024 | 18:30 CEST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
Team Vitality didn’t start this split well. But after three tough losses, Vitality found momentum and won both games in LEC 2024 Summer Week 2 against MAD Lions KOI and Team Heretics.
GIANTX are 1-4, with their only victory coming against the struggling MAD Lions KOI. There’s a world where GIANTX improve, but their ceiling is very limited and they looked terrible in their four defeats.
While Team Vitality are volatile, they have the potential to be one of the league’s top three teams. As long as they can stay on track and show the same level of performance as they did last week, Vitality should come out ahead with a few kills to spare.
MAD LIONS KOI vs FNATIC LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | MAD Lions $4.13 at GG Bet | Fnatic $1.22 at GG Bet |
When: | June 22, 2024 | 20:00 CEST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
MAD Lions KOI looked great in LEC 2024 Winter, but despite fielding the same players, they haven’t looked the same over the first two weeks of this split. Their once-strong teamwork has deteriorated significantly and they’re struggling to get ADC David “Supa” Martnez Garca into the game.
Fnatic, on the other hand, are already guaranteed a top-eight finish in LEC 2024 Summer. They have been improving since last split and now look like a serious threat for the European trophy, although they first have to prove they’re better than G2 Esports.
Even though Fnatic will occasionally be overly confident and shoot themselves in the foot, their form so far has been phenomenal. This should end in a dominant victory for the Black & Orange.

]]>The post Riot Games announces third League of Legends international tournament appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Alongside this exciting addition, Riot revealed plans for a comprehensive restructuring of the League of Legends competitive landscape.
The as-yet-unnamed tournament, slated for March, will feature five elite teams representing the LEC, LPL, LCK, and the newly-formed Americas and APAC leagues.
To accommodate this prestigious event, all regional leagues will transition to a three-split format, mirroring the successful model of the LEC.
This major overhaul reflects Riot’s commitment to ensuring the long-term sustainability of League of Legends esports.
Key changes include the proposed amalgamation of the LCS, LLA, and CBLOL into a unified Americas league, similar to the structure of VALORANT esports.
Additionally, the LCO, PCS, VCS, and LJL will merge to form the APAC league.
The new tournament, while smaller in scale compared to Worlds, will serve as a crucial addition to the global esports calendar, fulfilling the desires of players and fans alike for more international competition.
Following the Winter Split, teams will vie for a coveted spot in the inaugural event, with subsequent splits leading to the Mid-Season Invitational and the pinnacle of competitive play, the World Championship.
Each region’s allocation of slots in international events will be adjusted to accommodate the new tournament, with the top-performing regions earning additional spots at Worlds.
Furthermore, Riot plans to integrate the results of the new tournament into the seeding for MSI, ensuring a seamless connection between global events.
In conjunction with these changes, Riot aims to enhance the competitive experience with the introduction of the Fearless Draft mode in both regional and international play, adding an element of unpredictability and diversity to champion selection.
Overall, Riot’s ambitious plans for the 2025 season signal a new era for League of Legends esports, marked by increased global connectivity and heightened competition.
Fans can anticipate further details on the tournament and its impact on the competitive landscape in the months to come.

GIANTX enter the final split of the League of Legends season with a new top laner, Antonio “Th3Antonio” Espinosa Bejarano and jungler Lee “Juhan” Ju-han, who are exciting additions. But the main thing that will dictate how well GIANTX will do this split is whether they’ll find a way to improve their early game.
In the spring split, GIANTX were very effective in closing out games where they got ahead early C but that happened very rarely. Perhaps their new additions will fix that, giving us a reason to be cautiously optimistic about this squad.
Team Heretics didn’t make any roster changes this offseason but instead freshened up the coaching staff C which was a smart move considering, talent-wise, Heretics are in a good spot. Drafting and overall approach to games needs some work.
GIANTX and Team Heretics were flawed teams in the LEC 2024 Spring, but they’ve made changes that might help with their issues. There’s a big “what if” on both ends, making GIANTX an excellent underdog bet at the offered price.
SK GAMING vs ROGUE LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL |
|

Best Odds: | SK $1.53 at GG Bet | RGE $2.37 at GG Bet |
When: | June 8, 2024 | 17:45 CEST |

Last month, SK Gaming announced the signing of a new bottom lane duo, Cho “Rahel” Min-seong and support Lee “Luon” Hyun-ho, who could prove to be massive additions. SK were extremely inconsistent last split and completely fell apart following a strong start. so assuming Rahel and Luon can introduce some stability, SK Gaming could fly very high.
Rogue decided to run it back for LEC 2024 Summer, which is a bizarre decision for a team that was clearly the worst in the league since the winter split. Oddly, Rogue have the talent to do well, but we could’ve made the same excuse in January, yet nothing has changed.
Rogue have to find traction, and while they may bounce back, Emil “Larssen” Larsson and his crew have to first show something.
TEAM VITALITY vs TEAM BDS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | VIT $1.80 at GG Bet | BDS $1.90 at GG Bet |
When: | June 8, 2024 | 18:30 CEST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
No changes for Team Vitality ahead of LEC 2024 Summer C and that’s completely fine. Team Vitality were a strong mid-table team in the LEC 2024 Spring, showing a surprisingly high level of consistency. It was uncharacteristic for this roster, but if Vitality can keep playing like that, they might be in the race for a top-three finish.
Team BDS are another interesting team. In spring, Team BDS proved they could do well without relying too much on top laner Adam “Adam” Maanane, and yet he still played a significant role in many of BDS’ victories. Like Vitality, Team BDS just need to continue what they started, and we could be looking at another potential threat for Fnatic and G2.
At the offered moneyline odds, no side of this matchup is interesting, but the esports betting sites have overexaggerated with the total kills line.
MAD LIONS KOI vs G2 ESPORTS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | MDK $3.75 at GG Bet | G2 $1.25 at GG Bet |
When: | June 8, 2024 | 19:15 CEST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
Unsurprisingly, G2 Esports kept their entire lineup intact C as they should. G2 Esports are unquestionably the best European LoL esports team and, as proven at the Mid-Season Invitational 2024, one of the world’s strongest teams.
The only two reasons to doubt G2 Esports are questionable motivation to perform and fatigue. This might not seem too relevant, but it can play a big factor, especially with G2 Esports, who are known to mess around when nothing is on the line.
MAD Lions KOI looked great last split when they built on the early success from the LEC 2024 Winter and proved themselves as a resilient and well-coached team. While they’re still not at the same level as G2 Esports, the kill handicap line for this match is a bit too high, knowing that G2 Esports might not be ready or willing to perform at 100%.

]]>In the first game, G2’s bot lane duo, Steven “Hans Sama” Liv and Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle, displayed exceptional synergy, effectively shutting down TES’s bot lane and creating opportunities for Rasmus “Caps” Winther to shine.
With two well-fed ADCs, G2 secured the first victory in just 28 minutes, setting a dominant tone for the series.
As the matches progressed, G2’s superiority became increasingly evident.
Mikyx and Martin “Yike” Sundelin’s coordination neutralized Wenbo “JackeyLove” Yu’s Draven, while Hans Sama’s stellar performance led G2 to another victory, putting them up 2-0.
Despite TES’s efforts to counter G2 in the third match, Sergen “BrokenBlade” ?elik’s strong performance in the top lane ensured a clean sweep for G2, solidifying their status as the superior team in the series.

G2’s triumph over TES not only reaffirms their position as a title contender but also reignites the debate on the prowess of Eastern versus Western teams in international competitions.
Historically, Eastern teams have often dominated global tournaments with meticulous strategies and superior mechanical skills.
However, G2’s victory underscores the growing strength and resilience of Western teams in the global League of Legends scene.
By delivering one of the most dominant performances against one of China’s top teams, G2 proved that Western teams are more than capable of challenging their Eastern rivals.
As the competition progresses, fans can expect even more intense matchups and rivalries.
Overall, G2’s creative picks and coordinated plays reminded fans of their 2019 MSI triumph.
With three more best-of-five series to win in the lower bracket, G2’s next opponent will be the victor of the Team Liquid vs. T1 series.
This potential rematch against the current LoL World Champions promises to be a must-watch for League fans worldwide.
G2 Esports’ journey at MSI 2024 continues to give European fans hope for another international success.
MSI 2024 will continue on Wednesday as T1 clashes with Team Liquid, with the best-of-five series scheduled to start at 5pm CST.

]]>This best-of-five series marked their first international encounter since MSI 2019, where G2 emerged victorious.
EMEA fans were eager for a repeat performance, but T1 had other plans.
The series kicked off with T1 taking the first game, despite an impressive solo kill from G2’s mid-laner Rasmus “Caps” Winther on Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok.
However, G2 swiftly retaliated in game two, displaying strategic prowess to level the score.
With a dominant performance in game three, G2 reached match point, showcasing their ability to outmanoeuvre the reigning world champions.
But T1 fought back in game four, capitalizing on G2’s mistakes to force a decisive fifth game.
Throughout the series, both teams brought out unconventional champion picks, including signature choices like Kog’Maw, Vel’Koz, and Yasuo.
However, it was in game five where the true mastery of both teams was on display.
The game remained intensely close, with neither side gaining a clear advantage even after 30 minutes of play.
Every move became crucial, with a single teamfight potentially deciding the series.
While G2 secured individual kills, T1’s superior poke damage and Baron buff allowed them to apply relentless pressure, gradually securing double inhibitors.
In the final decisive fight, T1 picked off G2 one by one, clinching the series victory in a swift and decisive move.

This match shattered the peak viewership record for MSI 2024, with over 2.3 million viewers tuning in, making it the most-watched match of the tournament thus far.
The clash between G2 and T1 was not only a showdown between East and West but also a rematch with historical significance, dating back to their legendary encounter at MSI 2019.
Despite G2’s valiant effort, T1 proved to be a formidable opponent, showcasing their resilience and adaptability throughout the series.
