]]>Bilibili Gaming and Top Esports are set to fight for a ticket to the LPL 2024 Spring finals when they clash in the upper-bracket semis this Thursday.
The two Chinese LoL esports sides last met in the first match of the season, when Bilibili Gaming won 2-1. And according to the LoL betting odds, they should come out ahead again.
Bilibili Gaming ended the LPL 2024 Spring regular season as the clear best team in the league. They managed a 15-1 series record and an absurdly high 86% map win rate, which is a solid testament to how good they are.
Top Esports weren’t too far behind, with a 13-3 series record, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. They have improved significantly throughout the season, and with more than 2,500 gold difference at 20 minutes, they were second to only Bilibili Gaming at nearly 4,000 gold difference at the same time mark.
Comparing other performance metrics, the two teams are very close, but often Bilibili Gaming come out ahead. That includes Dragon (68.2%–61.2%) and Herald (62.9%–62%) control and gold difference per minute (285.5–252.8).
As two of three elite LPL teams, Bilibili Gaming and Top Esports are bound to produce a spectacle. However, even though Bilibili have better numbers entering the match, it’s hard to justify betting on them at the offered price.
Bilibili Gaming are stronger, but they’re not that much stronger. A fairer price would be closer to $1.70 on Bilibili and slightly over even money on Top Esports. So, at $2.37 with GG Bet, we’re getting a generous offer on the outsiders.

]]>The LoL Pro League (LPL) 2024 Spring Playoffs continue on Wednesday with Ninjas in Pyjamas looking to stage an upset when they tackle JD Gaming.
After defeating Team WE and FunPlus Phoenix, Ninjas in Pyjamas met their match when Bilibili Gaming beat them 3-1 in the fourth round of LPL 2024 Spring. NiP were stomped on maps one and three but outperformed Bilibili in the second map and got off to a very strong start on the fourth before throwing it all away.
Ninjas in Pyjamas played great and looked even better than they did against FunPlus Phoenix in their best performance of the split. But seeing them lose despite performing to the best of their ability only shows how big a gap there is between the top LPL teams and the rest.
JD Gaming took care of business in their first match of the playoffs when they swept Weibo Gaming, but they crumbled against Top Esports on Sunday in three maps. Despite what the final score suggests, the first two maps were incredibly close, so it’s not fair to say JDG are significantly worse than Top Esports.
On paper, Ninjas in Pyjamas performed better in the previous round of the LPL 2024 Spring Playoffs. On the other side, JD Gaming might’ve lost, but they played at a very high level.
JD Gaming are among the elite teams in the LPL, and LoL esports betting sites have them priced at $1.25 to win this bout. Ninjas in Pyjamas are capable of putting up a fight, but they’ve been consistently outmatched by the ‘big three’ and it’s unlikely that’ll change on Wednesday.

]]>The third round of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2024 Spring Playoffs will serve us with a clash between JD Gaming and Weibo Gaming. The two Chinese LoL sides last met in the penultimate week of the regular season, when Weibo won; however, they’re priced as heavy underdogs for the rematch.
Weibo Gaming haven’t looked great this split. They’ve lacked consistency and had issues in the mid and late game. However, they have improved as the season has gone on and played some of their best games in the final weeks — including their 2-0 sweep of JD Gaming.
Weibo Gaming enter the third round of the playoffs following two close but deserved victories against Invictus Gaming and LNG Esports. Playing 10 maps gives Weibo some momentum, but it also gives JD Gaming plenty of film to look over.
A majority of the time, Weibo Gaming pass the 20-minute mark with a gold deficit. While they have improved in that area of late, Weibo haven’t been reliably leveraging the rare early advantage they get.
JD Gaming are your typical stable LPL team that is solid in all areas of the game. They had a rough start but improved significantly in the latter stages of the split. So the question here is not so much whether JD can win, but rather what Weibo can do to cause an upset.
Assuming Weibo Gaming play to the best of their ability, they should be able to do some damage. But even then, it’s tough to believe they can take more than one map.

EDward Gaming’s roster rebuild has been a failure. Having lost most of their top players in the offseason, EDG weren’t expected to do well in the Chinese LoL league, but their situation ahead of LPL 2024 Spring Week 3 is as bad as it can get.
With a 0-4 record and just one map won from nine played, EDG have a lot of catching up to do. But based on what they’ve shown recently, EDward Gaming’s chances to finish the split inside the top 10 are slim to none.
FunPlus Phoenix have had their fair share of struggles this split. They slipped against Ultra Prime on Friday and got swept by Anyone’s Legend in the first week. But they also defeated Team WE at the start of the second week and crushed Oh My God a few days prior.
This is a match between two weak teams, but unlike EDward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix have at least produced a few quality games.

After suffering a shock loss against ThunderTalk Gaming in the first week of LPL 2024 Spring, LNG Esports got back on track. They defeated Oh My God and Weibo Gaming at the end of January and played a close, three-map series against JD Gaming on Sunday.
LNG Esports have looked good so far this split, but not quite as good as Bilibili Gaming, who are 4-0, with wins against Top Esports, Royal Never Give Up, Anyone’s Legend, and EDward Gaming. All four wins were dominant; however, we must consider that BLG’s schedule so far was pretty easy.
Bilibili Gaming are stronger than LNG Esports, but the price is good enough to take the underdogs. Even though Bilibili Gaming look as strong as they did in 2023, they’ve not shown much more than LNG this split and hardly deserve to be priced as $1.28 favourites with esports betting sites.

ROYAL NEVER GIVE UP vs ULTRAPRIME LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | RNG $1.11 at GG Bet | UP $6.50 at GG Bet |
When: | January 30, 2024 | 17:00 CST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
Royal Never Give Up won their first match of the season against EDward Gaming but then lost against Bilibili Gaming. Those were expected outcomes, and while RNG got outclassed by Bilibili Gaming, they showed some good qualities.
Like many other LPL teams, Royal Never Give Up swapped out some players and, overall, looked like a better team. But are they good enough to be priced at $1.11?
At the offered betting odds, Ultra Prime is given roughly a 16% implied probability of winning the match, which is a very low number. However, they’re also one of the weakest teams in the league.
They got swept by Invictus Gaming last week and lost to LGD Gaming in three maps on Saturday. Results like that don’t inspire much confidence and indicate that UP will struggle against any team they face. Expect dominant wins from RNG on both maps.
LGD GAMING vs EDWARD GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | LGD $3.50 at GG Bet | EDG $1.28 at GG Bet |
When: | January 30, 2024 | 19:00 CST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
LGD Gaming kicked off the 2024 season with a 0-2 loss against Ninjas in Pyjamas, which was expected. LGD had their moments in that series and looked solid in the laning phase, but as soon as the match transitioned to the mid-late game, LGD looked completely lost.
LGD Gaming managed to bounce back by beating UltraPrime 2-1 after that abysmal showing, reigniting some hope. Admittedly, UltraPrime isn’t the strongest team in the LPL, but LGD Gaming played better on Saturday.
EDward Gaming will field a much different and weaker roster this season. They had a solid showing against Royal Never Give Up, thanks to Hu “Ale” Jia-Le’s carry performance, but they still came up short. That loss proved that while EDG still has some solid pieces, they aren’t as great as a unit.
Edward Gaming has a lot of things to work on and will need more time for the new arrivals to adapt to playing at the top level. Although they’re better than most bottom-table teams, EDG are too short at the offered betting odds.

Despite reaching the grand final of the LoL World Championship 2023, Weibo Gaming decided to make two big roster changes. Top laner Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok and mid laner Wei “Weiwei” Bo-Han both left the squad and were replaced by Zhu “Zdz” De-Zhang and Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao. Weibo Gaming also field a new jungler, Peng “Xiaohao” Hao, for the upcoming season.
Replacing one risk-taker (TheShy) with another in Xiaohu might keep Weibo Gaming’s identity intact as a team that will be inconsistent but can do some serious damage. The big question is how Zdz will perform in the top lane and whether he’s capable of filling TheShy’s shoes.
Rare Atom has also made some big roster changes. Losing jungler Lu “Leyan” Jue is not optimal, but Rare Atom has acquired a new star player, Lee “VicLa” Dae-kwang. On paper, Rare Atom doesn’t look great, but they have some solid pieces and should be good for a top-10 finish.
Weibo Gaming has a much higher ceiling, but with all the new faces on the roster and a big question mark above Zdz, trusting Rare Atom to win a map makes more sense.
THUNDERTALK GAMING vs LNG ESPORTS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

ThunderTalk Gaming had their moments last season and looked like one of the top teams in the LPL until everything fell apart. For the 2024 season, TT Gaming decided to keep the core from last year but lost coach Zhou “NONAME” Qi-Lin, which could prove to be a much more significant factor than?it may seem.
LNG Esports kept their roster mostly intact, besides signing Wei “Weiwei” Bo-Han as a new jungler and Ling “Mark” Xu as a secondary support. The more impactful change is the addition of a new coach, Luo “Crescent” Sheng, from Top Esports, who could turn this team around.
Last season, LNG had the talent to do well but was too predictable and one-dimensional. The change of coach should help, and if Crescent can help LNG Esports improve on that, this team can do extremely well.
ThunderTalk are no pushovers, but they’re outclassed by LNG Esports, who, as the betting odds suggest, should win without much hassle.

Best Odds: | LGD $6.50 at GG Bet | LNG $1.10 at GG Bet |

LNG Esports enter their final LPL 2023 Spring regular season match with a 12-3 record, tied with EDward Gaming and JD Gaming, which guarantees them a direct invite into the third round of the playoffs. LGD Gaming, on the other side, are 5-10 and already out of the race for a top-10 finish.
The teams’ regular season record makes it very clear how this match should go, and even though there’s always a slight chance we might see an upset, we wouldn’t expect it to happen on Friday. LNG Esports are one of LPL’s top teams and have suffered only one upset loss this season – against Ninjas in Pyjamas (1-2) – which proves LNG’s efficiency against lesser squads.
As exciting as it is to cheer on the underdogs, LGD have nothing to match LNG. We expect a quick 2-0 for LNG Esports, who shouldn’t give up too much. So we’re taking under 25.5 kills on both maps at $1.83 with GG Bet.

ThunderTalk Gaming will have a mountain to climb this Friday when they face off against Edward Gaming in a match that can earn them a playoff ticket. For EDward Gaming, winning this game represents a chance to claim the regular season title, but it won’t happen unless JD Gaming slip on Saturday.
Despite the fact that there’s a lot more on the line for ThunderTalk Gaming, we’re still talking about a fixture between possibly one of the best teams in the world and ThunderTalk Gaming, who are a mid-tier team at best.
EDward Gaming did lose against FunPlus Phoenix (1-2) last weekend, and they dropped a map against OMG (1-2) two days prior, which suggests that EDG might choke again. But in their defence, EDG let Aurelion Sol slip through the draft, and they were playing against a team with nothing to lose, which is always more complicated.
Regardless of how concerning EDG’s last two showings were, they shouldn’t be losing games like this, nor can they afford to let their foot off the gas ahead of the playoffs. We’re taking EDG to end the season with a 2-0 sweep.

LNG ESPORTS vs ULTRA PRIME LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | LNG $1.10 at GG Bet | UP $8.00 at GG Bet |
When: | March 22, 2023 | 17:00 CST |

?Based on what we have seen from Ultra Prime this season, this should be an extremely one-sided match. LNG Esports are still in the mix to be the next LoL Pro League champions, while UP have long been out of the LPL 2023 Spring playoff race.
With just three wins to their name and an 8-24 map record, Ultra Prime are not a team you would expect much from. Moreover, in their recent games, it was evident that UP aren’t good enough to stand against any LPL squad, which might be the best way to explain why they’ve lost their last six series without winning a map.
Expect LNG Esports to win this series without facing much resistance, and since we don’t see the games dragging out for too long, under 25.5 kills is the bet we’ll go after.
INVICTUS GAMING vs BILIBILI GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | IG $2.75 at GG Bet | Bilibili $1.40 at GG Bet |
When: | March 22, 2023 | 19:00 CST |

?Bilibili Gaming went 2-0 last week, which includes a massive victory against the sliding Top Esports (2-0) on Saturday, which secured the Chinese LoL squad a playoff berth. With a 9-5 record, BLG can no longer finish lower than 10th, but they still have a shot at locking in a top-six result.
Invictus Gaming enjoyed an explosive start to the year and looked like legitimate title contenders, but slowed down in Week 5 and have since struggled to perform. Things didn’t improve last week when IG went 0-2 with defeats against LNG Esports (1-2) and the surging Ninjas in Pyjamas (1-2), which pushed them into a tough spot.
This looks like an impossible match for Invictus Gaming, who will struggle to deal with BLG’s ADC Zhao “Elk” Jia-Hao, but it’s not like IG can match BLG across any other positions. Expect a quick 2-0 victory for Bilibili Gaming.

TEAM WE vs WEIBO GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | WE $3.50 at GG Bet | Weibo $1.28 at GG Bet |
When: | March 21, 2023 | 17:00 CST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
Team WE launched an attack on a playoff spot in Week 8 when they defeated Ultra Prime (2-0), and they’ve since added two more victories against Invictus Gaming (2-0) and LGD Gaming (2-1). On the other side, Weibo Gaming are already guaranteed a spot in the postseason, but they still have a shot at finishing inside the top four.
Last week, Weibo swept Oh My God (2-0) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-0), but they didn’t look too convincing in their wins, proving that this is still a coin-flip team.
We don’t expect Team WE to compete for the LPL crown, but they’ve shown that they can play at the level of their opponents, and with momentum on their side, it’s not too crazy to believe that WE can do serious damage on Tuesday.
Team WE, with a map advantage, is a solid pick, but the real value is on the moneyline market.
OMG vs TOP ESPORTS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Best Odds: | OMG $2.62 at GG Bet | TES $1.44 at GG Bet |
When: | March 21, 2023 | 19:00 CST |
Watch Live: | Lolesports, Twitch |
Top Esports and Oh My God will clash on Tuesday in a crucial match for both sides. Top Esports, in particular, will be looking to bounce back from their four-game losing streak against LNG Esports (0-2), LGD Gaming (0-2), ThunderTalk Gaming (1-2), and Bilibili Gaming (0-2).
OMG are tied with TES in the LPL 2023 Spring regular season standings, with an 8-6 record. Like their next opponents, Oh My God have not been too convincing lately, losing against Weibo Gaming (0-2) and EDward Gaming (1-2).
On paper, this is Top Esports’ game to lose, but their lack of consistency makes it difficult to justify a bet on them. Even though OMG have proven to be just as volatile this season, they have held their own against stronger opponents, which gives us hope that they can show up on Tuesday.
Betting against Top Esports is scary since you never know when this team will go off. But based on their recent displays, it’s easy to imagine this bout going the distance.
