The video game company sternly warned that it is not from the staples of Ubisoft, and could be harmful to devices.

“Hey Operators, Unfortunately, we see a lot a websites promoting sideloading/direct APK downloads of Rainbow Six Mobile.
These websites are not official partners of Ubisoft and may be harmful to your device if you download.”

The announcement was made only a day after the company handed out invites to a Closed Alpha. Only players who got a code from R6 and live in Canada, the US, and Mexico can access the game.

While some outside those regions might be lucky, their gaming experience would be affected negatively.

“Selected players in CA, US, and MX with a code and eligible device will get a chance to participate in the Closed Alpha.

If you are outside of these regions and still manage to get into the Closed Alpha, high ping/latency may severely affect your game experience.

Despite the information, gamers have still tried to access the game through suspicious unlicensed links.

Rainbow Six Mobile developers have been interactive with their community

On Day 1 of the Closed Alpha, Rainbow Six Mobile developers got together to watch participants. They watched streams of the first official test of the newly-released game.

“It was an amazing first day of #R6M’s Closed Alpha and we had a great time watching your streams and videos.

We’d love to continue watching you win your rounds with your favorite operators!

Drop a link for your Twitch/YouTube channel below!”

Rainbow Six went ahead to share links to some streamers who were participating in the Closed Alpha. That sort of engagement with the community is not always seen, which is why fans and streamers have shared their excitement.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege was released on April 6, after going through rigorous development stages in collaboration with Tencent. It is the latest tactical shooter game to have a mobile version, joining the likes of Call of Duty and PUBG.

The first mention of the mobile game was sometime last year, with 2023 as the projected release date. However, the organization brought forward its release and is undergoing testing with active players and streamers.

Although there is a limitation as regards regions where one can play, Ubisoft has promised to keep fans updated as they roll out more regions.

The overall purpose of the Closed Alpha is to get feedback from players about the overall gameplay. Given the purpose of the Alpha, stats or ranks will not be saved.

The Closed Alpha, which started on May 3, has been a success so far. However, there is no word on when it will end or when developers will commence another round of applications for another testing phase.
