The head coach, Yuttanagorn “Zeus” Kaewkongyai, and team manager Jirawat “HeadHawk” Kalumpanun were not spared, as they were also let go by the Asia Pacific esports team.

The Thai franchise shared the development via their official Twitter page. They announced the exit of the five former members of the team, thanking them and wishing them success in their future endeavors.

“Every meets must have their own time to say goodbye. We, admins and staff under XERXIA, appreciated all of 5 members for staying with us. @Crws_vlrt @foxzfoxzfoxz @ImSushiboys,” the post read.

“All staff here will follow and support you from bottom of our heart And wish you success in every path you dream to be. Our first legend, Valorant team.”

Due to the decision, former XERXIA players Itthirit “foxz” Ngamsaard, Thanamethk “Crws” Mahatthananuyut, and Panyawat “sushiboys” Subsiriroj will head into unrestricted free agency.

XERXIAs announcement was made a little over a month since the team ended their Valorant Champions run in the top 16. The news is also exactly a month after the Riot Games partnership announcement, which left the Thai team out of the loop.

After the game developer released the list of its franchised teams, Nutchaphon “sScary” Matarat parted ways with XERXIA and went on to join the Singaporean franchise, Bleed eSports, as their second foreign player, aside from the Vietnamese Ng? “crazyguy” C?ng Anh. The future of the rest of the squad was under speculation until the Thai organizations recent announcement.

The announcement that saw XERXIA part with most of their players, as well as the head coach and manager, had the name of Thanachart “Surf” Rungapajaratkul intentionally omitted from the post. It is unclear if the player will go with the rest of the roster or continue with the franchise and headline the supposedly new roster, which will be limited to featuring in only domestic tournaments. Surfs future could be hinged on XERXIAs decision, as the teams future in Valorant is rather uncertain.

Foxz, Crws, sushiboys, Zeus, and HeadHawk were all signed on to XERXIA at the start of the year. The Thai trio and head coach were previously a part of X10 CRITs roster, before being signed to XERXIA the same month their contracts with the team expired.

The Thai Valorant team had the entire lineup during their run in three different Valorant tournaments in 2022. They finished in one of the top 10 spots at the Aprils VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters – Reykjavk and were among the top 12 teams at VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters – Copenhagen, which was held in July. The 2022 Valorant Champions tournament was their third appearance, and they finished the event in the top 16 positions.

Reports had earlier suggested that foxz, Crws, and sushiboys are in talks with Talon Esports and may join the teams lineup. The team were one of the 10 partners in the VCT Pacific League who had previously revealed their desire to entirely rebuild their roster in preparation for the VCT 2023.

The Asian franchise have also been rumored to be in the process of coaxing Valorant superstar Patiphan Chaiwong back into the Valorant competitive scene. The player had previously played with foxz, Crws, and sushiboys on X10 CRITs lineup, but he retired from the esports title in December 2021.

After retiring from Valorant, Chaiwong moved back to Overwatch and played with the Los Angeles Gladiators. With the 19-year-old on the roster, the team were able to bag two consecutive championship wins. He has, however, recently retired from professional Overwatch, which has raised eyebrows, suggesting a possible return to Valorant.

XERXIA crash out of VALORANT Champions 2022 https://www.youxiangrj01.com/xerxia-crash-out-of-valorant-champions-2022/ https://www.youxiangrj01.com/xerxia-crash-out-of-valorant-champions-2022/#respond Tue, 06 Sep 2022 07:05:20 +0000 https://www.youxiangrj01.com/?p=23562 XERXIA crashed out of the 2022 Valorant Champions on Monday after suffering an elimination match defeat. The Thai esports organization took on the Latin American team KR Esports in a last attempt to stick around and was defeated with a 2-1 score.?

?The franchise became the third Asian team to make an early exit from the tournament.

KR displayed a praiseworthy performance at the 2021 Valorant Champions. However, they also faced a similar fate to XERXIA of being eliminated from the group stage if they were to lose this match.? ?

After losing to FunPlus Phoenix and XSET, respectively, KR and XERXIA joined the lower bracket of Group C. Both franchises were beaten with a 2-0 score.? ?

The recent match between KR and XERXIA was the first time that both teams had met each other, despite having appeared on the international stage on several occasions.

The teams started their series with Icebox as their first pick, and XERXIA decided on a typical composition. For the teams duelist pick, Thanachart “Surf” Rungapajaratkul selected Jett. The move earned the player the status of someone to watch out for during the game.? ?

At the start of the map, KR used a strategy made popular by FunPlus Phoenix to bag four successive rounds. The gaming strategy basically had the team purchasing up to Vandals in round two of the match.? ?

In the first half of Icebox, the Latin American team carried on with their strategy commendably well, while XERXIA, on the other hand, could not keep up and marred their performance with several mistakes.? ?Surf, who picked Jeff at the start of the map, was unable to make any proper impact with his agent, while Roberto “Mazino” Rivas for KR displayed his expert use of Sage on the map.? ?

Despite the overwhelming difference in their performances, XERXIA were still able to bag a few rounds, stopping KR from dealing out a full sweep. With a number of lucky timing advantages and clutches, the map ended with a 13-4 win for KR.?

?The next map, Haven, was selected by XERXIA, and they tried and succeeded in making up for their previous failure. They blazed through the first six rounds with six consecutive wins after getting the pistol round.? ?KR attempted damage control in the first half, but XERXIA obtained the pistol round in the second half and closed the map with a win. Thanamethk “Crws” Mahatthananuyut and Panyawat “sushiboys” Subsiriroj gave a startlingly good performance, which helped the Thai team to end the map with a 13-7 win.?

?Contrary to the previous two maps, the third, Ascent, had no particular team in the lead at the start. The situation carried on to the second half, when KR got into the lead by strengthening their attack.? ?They were able to use every chance they got to lay waste to their opponents defense. This led to a similar situation as the first map, and KR won Ascent with a 13-6 score.? ?

Although KR came out on top of the match and performed much better than in their game against FunPlus Phoenix, the team is yet to play as well as it did in the previous games.? ?With XSET claiming victory over FPX in the Group C winners’ match, KR will take on FPX in the decider match to be held on September 8. The winner of the outing will advance to the playoffs, and the losers journey will be cut short.

XSET defeat XERXIA to claim first Valorant Champions win https://www.youxiangrj01.com/xset-defeat-xerxia-to-claim-first-valorant-champions-win/ https://www.youxiangrj01.com/xset-defeat-xerxia-to-claim-first-valorant-champions-win/#respond Mon, 05 Sep 2022 02:01:33 +0000 https://www.youxiangrj01.com/?p=23479 XSET earned their first victory on the international stage after a highly intense and difficult battle against XERXIA at VALORANT Champions 2022 on Saturday.

The two teams were evenly matched and each round was unpredictable. As they went back and forth with their rounds, the audience were kept on the edge of their seats.

Even though it was a very close battle, XSET prevailed over XERXIA and won both maps to complete the tournament with a 2-0 score. Both XSET and XERXIA are making their second appearances on the world stage.

However, despite VALORANT’s reputation for its fast-paced action and fierce fraggers, there were some parts of the game in which patience was absolutely necessary. At least three different instances occurred in which players waited to shoot while an adversary agent focused on something else.

Itthirit “foxz” Ngamsaard came out on top first after displaying one of the most impressive levels of patience. Zachary “zekken” Patrone maintained an angle that approached the A site; nevertheless, he neglected to examine his corners. Foxz was there waiting for him, and approximately 20 seconds passed before Rory “dephh” Jackson joined him. Finally, foxz revealed himself to the XSET players as a shower of lethal bullets that fell upon them. Despite the fact that things were not looking good for XSET, they were able to pull through and win the round, which ultimately led to them winning the first map on Fracture.

Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban’s subsequent two acts of patience happened during the early rounds of Icebox, but the first one did not pay off. He waited for foxz to plant, but at the very last second he pivoted to kill Nutchapon “sScary” Matarat, but he ended up losing the fight to him instead. Foxz waited once more to achieve the kill on Cryocells in the following round; however, this time, Cryocells turned around, shot him, and killed him, achieving his goal of vengeance.

XSET will now compete in the Group C winners’ match against FunPlus Phoenix, who defeated KR Esports 2-0 in the opening round. In the event that XSET emerge victorious, they will move on past the group stage and into the playoff round.

Now XERXIA will compete in the elimination match against KR. After that, they will still have one more match to play in order to advance out of the group stage.
